KWKH Shreveport

It seems as though 1130 KWKH in Shreveport isn't nulling to the north as it should be to protect KMOX, and it has really been hammering the fringes of KMOX's groundwave signal.

I never used to be able to recieve KWKH at all in the St. Louis area until around a year or two ago.

Has anyone else been logging KWKH up north lately?

We have an 1130 here in Milwaukee (I am an engineer for them) and have not heard Shreveport pop it head up here lately. And trust me I listen for them.

To me conditions on the AM band have been a little goofy the past week or so.

I live in Gary Indiana and I get KMOX at night. For 1130 I usually get lots of splatter on 1130, but from time to time I get KWKH Shreveport, Louisiana, KFAN Minneapolis (usually when it's raining outside), and just recently since some fine tuning, now starting to get WISN at night in Gary Indiana. I always get WISN during the day, but at night, it varies, and one night when WISN switched to their night pattern, it faded in and out a lot.

We (WISN) just swiched to a new transmitter. The older one was having trouble keeping full legal night power. It isnt a big difference, but I guess every little bit helps.
