KWMT On High Power Last Night

I got KWMT here in Eastern Pennsylvania around 10:05 last night. At first I was only able to hear Radio Disney. Then a few minutes later, it faded and I heard a faint Country music station in the background. It was hard to make out the words to the song but the music was heard fairly well. Then I heard a male voice
faintly mention the call letters KWMT.

Later, around 3:07 AM, KWMT was stronger and I heard a man saying "AM 540 KWMT, The News and Information Station." Then they went into Fox News Radio programming. Then they began to play music again and that's when I turned my radio off. This is a 935 mile catch for me.

Yes, and KWMT was still at it last night. But their propagation pattern is interesting (reminiscent of longwave in Europe). I would get a very strong signal from them for a few minutes in WAUK's null - at times strong enough to be perfectly audible when NOT in WAUK's null; then a very long fade where they would literally disappear for 3 to 6 minutes. Last night was a good one for KWMT in the Chicago area as CBK was uncharacteristically absent (at least they were at around 9 - 9:30 CST).

I listened a couple nights ago and thought I heard country music for less than a minute during one of the times 540 from Pine Hills was faded.

KWMT must've decided to throw a null right in my direction. ???

No trace of it again an hour or so before dawn this morning. All WAUK/CBK here. Surprising given how they were blasting in just last week.

It's not just you, cyberdad. I tried for it last night between 7:30 and 8:30 pm and it was all WAUK with CBK clearly audible in their null (as usual). Not a whisper of KWMT, quite unlike Sunday night when it was very clear. I wonder what's going on there?

They've used GPS technology to pinpoint my house and install a null! ;D No trace of it for me last night, either. CBK was running drone programming that would've made Milt Rosenberg seem like Wolfman Jack.

I'm getting KWMT right now 5:40 p.m. CT (2340 UTC), albeit weak, country music, announcer said "KWMT, Country Music and More..." There is a very weak CBK (checked with CBW-990), and of course WAUK.

Aimed the loop so that it favors the north direction. WAUK is very weak but identifiable under daytime conditions 35 miles south of Indianapolis. Roughly 283 air miles...not bad for 400 watts.

They may be at it again. I heard them fighting it out with WAUK last night. CBK seemingly missing.
