KWNR inappropriate comment?

As paranoid as Clear Channel is I'm surprised they didn't get suspended for letting that statement go out over the air. I thought it was funny listening to it on U tube. I don't know who they are. but myself being in town quite awhile I've learned not to make funny comments about Blacks, Mormons, Gays or in my case once, The Girl Scouts.

Actually on the Animal Planet Cable Show "Pit Boss" (Which hasn't been running, cancelled? back in the Fall?.) Anyway the red headed female "little person" Ashley (who was gay) on the reality show was trying to get into comedy. She told that joke when she was at the "Improv" comedy club during one episode.

So the caller repeated an old joke. That was told on the Animal Planet network. So I don't think it is a big deal.

Seriously?!? That joke was completely harmless. It was not mean or degrading in any way. And yes...I have friends and family that are gay.

I agree with MC....Not a big deal.

There were no inflamitory words used in the bit. Now, if such words was used, then yeah, it would be inappropriate. Now the word "midget"...well some little people don't mind it while others are offended by it. I used to work with "midget" wrestlers in the wrestling promotion I used to announce for. That was what they were called. They wore it like a badge of honor.

I'm just curious as to who would go to the trouble of rolling tape on the KWNR morning show and then posting it on Youtube? Has Brad Booker had a history of making such comments? Well, to be fair, he was just reading a Facebook status. I know he got in trouble in Evansville IN when he and his morning show partner pulled a phnoe prank on one of the kids of baseball legend Don Mattingly, a Evansville native. They didn't get fired, but they did apologize for it. Whoever recorded this must have heard Booker make similar comments since arriving in Vegas. Maybe someone from KCYE...

...or perhaps it was Booker himself, looking to create a buzz for his show. Maybe it was someone at KWNR, in an effort to create some water cooler talk to help the station's ratings.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

That's what I was wondering. Why was anybody taping this to begin with? Does anyone even record popular radio shows these days?

Good point. Other than someone in the Clear Channel building, who else would have access to this audio? It sounds like it came off an aircheck machine. If that's the case, it had to have been someone at Clear Channel. I do like The Captain's theory about Brad posting himself to create a "buzz" (god knows he needs it) but is this the best he could find??? A more likely theory is someone in the CC building that doesn't like him and trying to get him in trouble.
