I SEEM TO REMEMBER THAT KWNX USED TO BE KTAE FOR ALONG TIME, PLAYING COUNTRY THEN THEY ADDED GERMAN AND SPANISH. THEN THE STATION WENT ALL SPANISH. THEN NEXT THEY CHANGED CALLS TO KWNX AND WAS A NEWSTALK STATION. THEN THEY CHANGED TO SPORTS AND NOW SPANISH SPORTS.
KTAE in Taylor was your basic small town Texas radio station, serving a rural audience. Local yokel stuff, lots of Country, some Spanish for the farmworkers.
It was a 1kw ND daytimer for many years, non-factor amongst Austin listeners. I believe the longtime original owner (whose name escapes me) finally cashed in during the early 90's.
