Have we a flip? All commercials now.
Is that legal?

Yes. Even when the FCC had strict expectations on commercial loads, Gordon McLendon had an FM in LA that ran only classified ads. It did not succeed, but the FCC was willing to see that a potential service could be rendered. Today, market forces are supposed to keep commercial loads under control.

When I was listening today, KWRU was not running the same format that was on 940 and is now on 1680. They were simulcasting KIQI, which, btw, is the SF Giants and 49rs Spanish outlet in the Bay Area.

Actually the format on 1680 KGED was the one that was on 1300 KYNO (Radio Guadalupe) before John Ostlung took over.

Yep, you're right. KWRU, KEAP, and (pre Ostland) KYNO (all Spanish Christian) all pretty much sounded the same.
Wasn't the pre-Ostland KYNO, Spanish Catholic and not Spanish Christian?

I thought Catholics were Christians.

Maybe it's the difference from Catholic and Protestant, both are Christian, KJOP 1240 Lemoore, and KHOT 1250 are Catholic English stations, and KIRV 1510 is considered Christian, you brought up a good question. Musically K-LOVE and Air One would be all of the above, literary speaking.

I thought Catholics were Christians.

They are but the programming is slightly different on radio. I have a few friends who are Catholic who don't listen to radio stations like "K-Love", "K-YCC", "KCBC" , "KFIA" or "The Fish" but prefer listening to the local Immaculate Heart Radio Station (KWG-1230) which has "EWTN Global Catholic Radio".
