I was really hoping for New York Times :(

This is a great fit for Quincy and KTTC should be doing backflips over the resources they will now have south of the border. KWWL overlaps heavily into KTTC's market. They should be able to share news gathering and weather equipment quite easily.

KTTC will probably never make major inroads in Iowa since Rochester-Austin-Mason City is such a divided market. Most viewers on the Iowa side of the border would probably rather get their news from an Iowa-based station, and that means KIMT or an out-of-market station. Also, viewers in Rochester don't care about Iowa news. Too much Iowa news would drive many Rochester viewers to WCCO or KSTP.

many of us who work there were hopeing for the New York Times as well, or possibly even Hearst Argyle as both of them stoped by and were interested in us, the fact is they didn't want to spend as much money that will be needed to fix the places up and buy items that are needed. Raycom simply just owned us for to many years and didn't want to put any money back into the place.
