KWYU power level toggling constantly

Has anyone else heard the transmitter for No Bull Radio 96.9 powering up and down for the past few days?
It seems the power level might be too high on the transmitter which is having to drop the power, then it will immediately gradually get back up on power and drop down a few seconds later.
It's a very noticable change.
 
Maybe they need a new transmitter maybe in 2 to 3 weeks the transmitter will be dead.
 
I looked at the technical info for the KWYU license and I can see where there might be a problem. The Google street view pic of the tower is rather... interesting.
 
Sounds like a fairly typical issue.Not being an engineer I cannot explain it but a transmitter say running at 5,000 watts has a bad segment that cannot take the full 5,000 watts (maybe a bad cap). It tries for a few seconds, then cuts back to a power level it can utilize without causing further damage. Since the transmitter is supposed to be at 5,000 watts, it again tries to inch it's way back to 5,000 watts only to cut back again. This will continue until the transmitter is set for the lower power it can handle. Having the same happen at stations I was overseeing, it was a pretty easy fix. In fact, at KYND for some reason, with some thunderstorms our transmitter would rise and fall until the storm moved away from the tower site (needing no repairs). I always wondered if it was due to area lightning and possibly a grounding issue. Never figured that one out.
 
KWYU seems to be off-air now...
I assume it's being worked on.
 
Never mind other stations were covering it up, it seems still on.
 
Here's a recording I took a few minutes ago of 96.9 KWYU to show off it's failure, in case one of you care about it's power problem.
I didn't move my antenna or modify the file after recording directly into the radio's output.

Get a life dude...thats sounds like a weak signal, nothing more. its far enough away and doesnt cover san antonio that a little bit of tropo could make the signal level rise and fall.

dont you have something better to do? All you EVER do on here is post when stations have problems.... that A.) Often times arent real problems and B.) stuff that id bet you never contact the stations about. you think posting on here will fix things? how about if youre so concerned, instead of pointing out stations failures here, why not contact them directly? Oh, but you never do, thats not as much fun for you as pointing out their problems in public.

I sounds like DX going in and out for like 5 to 10 min also it sounds like DX is fighting with another station like 300 to 400 miles away.
 
Does anyone know if KWYU's transmitter stopped doing that funny thing with the up/down power
