KWYZ 1230 off air

Stumbled on this post and it brought back a few memories. I grew up in Marysville and back in the 80s our Cub Scout Pack toured the studios which were adjacent to I-5. They had a big motor home for a mobile studio they would drive in parade's and set up at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. The former studio building was demolished last year to make way for an expansion of Kaiser Permanente's health care facility in Everett. Glad to see they are still on the air.

More than a Korean audience: For radio-building and restoration hobbyists KWYZ 1230 AM provides a sanity check for AM reception. It's the station a hobbyist must hear before fine tuning for weaker-station reception.

Depending on what a listener means by "clutter," one of the following may be needed:
1. A vernier mechanism added at the tuning knob,
2. RF attenuation to reduce signal strength and inter-modulation at the front end,
3. Intermediate-amplifier alignment (if the IF amplifier has transformer coupling), and/or
4. Ceramic-filter replacement (if the IF amplifier contains a ceramic filter(s)).
But I'm no reception expert. Ask someone with major experience in these problems.

Happy listening.
