KXAN new news times

Now KXAN does 12-5-6-10 news times. Wonder how long that will last? They change news times all the time before but always changed back to 6 and 10. I hope they can make it work this time.

they have a good news team, they up against tight competition by kvue at midday, 5 ,6 and 10 while keye doesn't have it at 5,6 and 10. ktbc is getting better at 9 pm. i choose kvue and kxan for the best newscast's and third would be ktbc.

I was down in austin this past weekend for ACLMF, KXAN "Austin News" was about the only local cast I actually liked watching. KTBC looks too "grimey" (guessing it was signal), KVUE too cheap and KEYE too gimicky (esp. the new stop motion AM News Promo)

I'll admit, Im partial to 36 because I used to work for em....Always though KVUE was too much of a joke...

kxan have made alot of improvements ,i still have a habit of watching kvue still and watch kxan( i like both stations). i remember they had tonia cooke along time ago on kxan and went to another state ( i believe it was washington). and jim spector is another good weathercaster that been there along time. mel pennington, some other weatherman ( i forget his name) who was on kxan along time also, that went to ktbc for a couple of years.

KXAN needs to open up the checkbook. The new "Austin News" look is tres cheap. The set's not too awful, but the graphics are essentially the same as before. Talent, with the exception of a few folks, is laughable. KVUE, on the other hand, is the class of the market. A quality newscast with talented anchors and reporters who practice real journalism. There's a reason they keep winning ratings -- and awards.

I was surprised that after all these years KXAN finally started a newscast at 5, for years they always carried syndicated programming at 5. Never thought I see the day that would happen ;D

I remember in the early 90s when KXAN had Tonya Cooke and RObert Hadlock doing the news, Mike Clay doing the weather, and Michael Coleman doing sports. I thought they had a very good newscast in those days with some good reporters.

I was there during the Hadlock/Schibel/Spencer/Wallace lineup in 99, Robert is one of the most professional, as well as down to earth, anchors ive ever met.
