A few months ago KTVT with D magazine had a contest to select a couple to win a wedding package. KTVT also has a split screen with the radar located on the left side of the screen called "Storm Watch" when heavy rain,t-storms appear in the area in the afternoon during the newscasts at 4 & 5 pm. A few weeks ago Channel 5 started their "Throwing a wedding" contest, with the very same rules, etc as channel 11, and recently they have copied "Stormwatch" from Ch.11 including the title.
Is KXAS the new "FOX" when it comes to copying?

Ellie and her fiancee should enter the Channel 5 contest, and see how long it takes 5 to realize the ruse (if they even would.) That contest is so blatently copycat. What, is this one co-sponsored by the Fort Worth Press? And their special, seasonal edition called "F-Weddings"? hee hee

OH, let us not forget,on the same News(?)cast they had another "breaking news" that lasted 2 min., about McDonald's bigger sandwich. Alas another free spot. I guest the employee lounge must have a McDonald's in it.

In channel 5's defense, they've used STORM WATCH and the split screen for years. I wouldn't swear they were first with it, but 5 was the first place *I* saw it.

NBC5 Throws a Wedding is probably a corporate suggestion... to tie into "TODAY THROWS A WEDDING," which the network morning show has done for a couple of years.

When I worked at 5, there was no Mickey D's in the break room. I did once get something that resembled cottage cheese out of a carton of milk I bought from the Carousel of Death. 11 never sold me spoiled milk when I worked there.

I remember ch.5 using "STORM TRACK"" and Finfrock promoted it. I also remember Ch.8 using the radar imagery first during regular programs and news but it was not split screen, but in the upper left corner, warnings in the right corner. BTW Pete Delkus; Its Pronounced ' MAL-LA- KOFF' not 'MALLETCOUGH" And< this is classic....>ITS 'GUN BARRELL CITY" not "FUN Barrel city"...I couldn't believe that one but he said it twice!!!

I hope someone will pass nuh-VAIR-oh on to Pete and Justin. I heard them both say nuh-VARR-oh today.

And pass the same info along to Channel 4's Evan Andrews and Ron Jackson, and almost every other weather and/or news person at the radio and TV stations. Take a jaunt 50 miles south to Corsicana and ask anyone on the street what county you're in. Sheeez!

No don't tell them how to say it, that's how those of us in Navarro County know they are not from here when they come a visitin.

Let's see what happens when the San Jacinto River is involved.

(Although I gotta admit, we've had someone here at 33 get that wrong when it was San Jacinto Street in Dallas.)

Its thursday ( next week) .severe weather is pounding southeast Texas. Pete Delkus Chief Meteorologist to be at WFAA remarks" Flooding continues in S.E. Texas the "SAND Jacks Into river is out of its banks"
