KXAS CH.5 NEWS WITH RONALD MCDONALD

Yes Harold and others from the days of the great KXAS are rolling in their graves and changing the channel. At 10:17pm They has what amounted to a three and a half minute free commercial for McDonald's.
They interviewed the regional promotional manager of McDonald's about their new "Crispy McChicken" sandwich which looks like a copy of Chic-filets own sandwich. They then talked for one minute on the new McDonald's coffee which is in direct competiton with Starbucks.
WOW!! MY news is complete and thankfully I am now one of the few who knows there are two new items on McDonald's menu!! That is earth shattering news and all of North Texas was brought to a screeching halt at this announcement. Meanwhile In the City of Terrell, The City mgr. was arrested by the DPS for DUI in a city own vehicle, refuses a breathalyzer test, with video that shows the incident and arrest, but is bailed out of jail by the Terrell Police Chief and a Kaufman county Judge supresses the evidence from the Da's office.
Now if it was a DUI at local Mcdonald's ..I am sure KXAS would have it covered.
I wonder who the news director and news assignments editor are. Whats that? They are officed at what elementary?

I quit watching NBC5 awhile back. Ever since NBC holdings bought into that station, they've lost all credibility. I liked it when LIN was the full owner, at least they had some journalistic integrity back then. I bet Amon Carter is spinning in his pine box.

I think NBC 5 lost most of its journalistic integrity when Chip Moody left. Watching the news on Channel 5 these days is like watching a bus wreck in slow motion. The only reason for watching is Finfrock. Good grief, the other day they actually had Steve McLaughlin doing sports! Don't they have anybody in the sports department that can take over if Newy gets sick? I've seen Brett Johnson and Randy McIlwain doing sports, too. What's next, McGarry in the sports chair? Howzabout let's let Derrick Castillo do weather, or maybe Tammy Dombeck anchoring the news with James Aydelott (God, what a name for TV - think maybe he got teased as a kid?).

It'll be a sad day when Tracy Rowlett retires from CBS 11 next year - that's when the last shred of journalistic integrity in D/FW will take its final bow.

Agreed the old "oklahoma mafia" is riding off and let's not forget Troy says adios in July while "Master Thespian"Pete Delkus asserts control. Steve McCauley will probably go somewhere soon after. Ch. 5 has gone so tabloid so fast its amazing they ATTEMPT TO DO NEWS. The real news( if you can call it that) lasts maybe 5minutes, after that it has more fluff than a twinkie.

Channel 5 is so bad I refuse to watch it. Each of their newscast just SUCK soooooo bad, it isn't even funny. I am originally from Lubbock and I almost think each of the Lubbock TV stations do a better job at a newcast then Channel 5...........they truly are the bottom of the barrell.

I'd even rather watch that spooky looking lady on WB-33 or CW-33 now at 9pm than watch a Channel 5 newscast. Truly horrible.
