KXCL... When will it sell?

With things so quiet on this board let's see what folks think.

It's obvious that no one wants to buy KXCL. Now before everyone comes back and tells me about their CP or makes comments about the fact that the signal sucks (these are the facts, we all know that), when do you think First Broadcasting will fudge on the price and cut their losses? Are the bets that First will run it into the ground?

And please withhold comments containing Mr. Brooks and his departure as we know what happened the last time.

First is betting the upgrades will make it worth the eight-figure number they apparently want for the signal. Those upgrades, if they happen at all, won't be happening before late spring or early summer. Even then, it remains to be seen if they really make a difference. The station's engineering models and contour maps have been wrong forever, and those mistakes have cost a lot of people a lot of money -- and jobs.
Most recent ratings were not at all kind to Flash, and their commercial load has dropped off quite a bit.
If I were the brass at Flash, I'd cut my losses, dump that sucker and get out of town before anyone else gets hurt.
Edited by RadioEnginerd on 02/15/06 04:20 PM.

It's become American Idol radio! Even you can be on the air in a major market.
Call now, Stacy Anderson is standing by to take your calls. This call is free. As for a sale? Someone'll pick it up when it hits 8 or 9.

I'm assuming about a year AFTER the "upgrade" they'll sell it. They'll try like hell to get studid money for it, will fail at the con, and will be reduced to selling it for closer to what it's worth. It's an incredible loss to see a format get flushed because Stacy and the original air talent could have made it work. They'd never be number one, but with a signal, they'd be able to make a comfortable profit without all the other corporate stupidity involved.
