KXGJ/Bay City has flipped.

Thanks to latino2008 for this information from the Houston board.

KXGJ/Bay City has flipped from Spanish pop as XO 107.9 y 101.7 to Regional Mexican "El Norte" which is of course the format currently at 96.9 KNTE/El Campo. Suffice it to say, KNTE will most likely find a new format shortly as I can't imagine Liberman Broadcasting leaving 2 100kw signals next door to each other in simulcast. IIRC, this will be the 3rd format at 96.9 since it was sold to Liberman.

They really should flip KNTE to hip hop, since Victoria has no hip hop outlet now.

Unfortunately, as you know, KNTE-FM targets Houston instead of Victoria. I would certainly stand with you in your argument that KNTE-FM should target Victoria where the signal is outstanding, as opposed to Houston where the signal is virtually non-existent east of Beltway 8 West. Checking Liberman's website, the only format that I suspect will replace El Norte on 96.9 is "La Rockola". Or....they could just as easily move La Ranchera from KEYH/Houston over to the KNTE/KQUE/KJOJ triplet, and go another direction for KEYH. All I know is that it seems everytime Liberman changes one station, the others in the cluster are soon to follow. Heck, jras, considering KJOJ-FM/Freeport's upgrade it may play a part in all of this before it's all said and done.

And yet as of today at 12 noon KNTE became la bonita

Are they still simulcasting 1230 am?

Yes, but they dont mention the AM signal at all. All they say is 96.9 Galveston/Houston.
