While I know it's not techinically a Houston station, it does targets the market. KXGJ has been a dead carrier the entire morning, while simulcast counterpart KQQK/Beaumont is still going strong. Anyone know what the situation is?

The strange thing is about KXGJ and KNTE is that they have HDSignal, but where is it going to? I know the folks in Victoria won't be able to get the HD Signal. Every so often I'll get it, but I pick up the analog much better and more reliable. Strange that they did that.

Well you see, it's called business (or so is what they want us to believe). LBI decided that what better way to serve the community than to go Digital. Being HD equals being a more attractive station, right? Gee, I can already see how good that is paying off. I am pretty positive that I can count the total number of HD listeners in El Campo, Edna, Bay City, and Port Lavaca with one hand, ONE HAND folks.

I can understand why they went Digital with KTJM and KQQK, but not with KXGJ and KNTE. They should just put those two station to serve the Gulf Coast. I'm pretty shure there is room for two country stations (The other being KMKS) and maybe a Rock station. I know those counties are pretty dry when it comes to advertising, but I think they'll be better off serving their own area instead of being passed as Houston Stations.

At the end, let us look at the bright side, now the cows and chickens can listen to El Norte and XO in HD Clarity! No more static for them! (Darn, I forgot, they can't lock in the signal, oh well, I guess it is back to MOOOOO-ing)

(Also jras, I have the copy of KHTZ Cladwell-College Station, I just left it in my small USB stick back in College Station ::), I'll try to get that to you as soon as possible)

Thanks, I noticed on Saturday afternoon, KXGJ was broadcasting in Stereo but no audio. KNTE probably has a better shot of getting the HD Signal into Victoria than KXGJ. But if your in a car I bet it drops out a lot. My place just South of Austin, I had a time trying to pull in the HD Signals from Austin. It kept on droping out a lot.
