KXNT's Jack calls Savage a racist

During the morning flip up/off segment, The ever present "Jack" melted down and said Savage was an idiot, a racist and the only person on talk radio concerned about the Texas FLDS children being rounded-up.

1) What's he listen to kdwn for? If he wasn't listening he wouldn't have known what Savage said.

2) I guess more people like Savage than Lavine and the Radio Star? Didn't someone say he has better ratings? (How many Limpbaugh listeners fip to Savage in the afternoon?)

3) On ksfo in SF, Savage and Alan Stock seemed to like each other, I wouldn't be suprised that Stock's demo tape included material from when hewas filing in for Savage and others at KSFO.

1.Most PDs monitor the competition.

2.In the most recent trend KXNT pulled ahead of KDWN in PM drive.

3.They were on the same station back then.

I have to say I agree with Jack on this one. I have always liked Savage, but I really disagree with him on the FLDS situation. Texas is doing the right thing by taking those children away.
 
Good idea to mention the competition though? Don't remind listeners of Savage's existence.
 
It seems to me that KXNT is reacting to KDWN a lot, and I don't understand why. KDWN barely shows up in the ratings at this point. Who knows how much longer they'll even be around. But all of a sudden it's "NewsTalk 840 - the news you trust"?

If they really are going to start having a legit news operation to rival 720's, shouldn't they have it in place before re-branding the station? if they're going to stick with Metro Source's rip and read news during the day (which has worked fine for them this long), why re-brand?

I don't get it. ???
 
Tammy Bruce on kdox said that the government over reacted in the case of the flds kids, I guess that means she and kdox is "racist radio" too.

Since kdwn's Savage is a racist, then all people at Beasley should have to "renounce" him, the way Obama had to renouce the Reverend, and others?

It's funny, I make a technical observation about kdwn on this forum where few people see it and I'm the "bad guy" - yet the ever present "Jack" calls people and other stations "racist" on morning drive time, has bumpers produced calling other station's "racist radio" and all you Beasley people take it like deer in the headlights.

Savage is gone to much, and some of his stories are getting old after he tells them ten times.
