Hmmmm.... so I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before KVIB 95.1 Club 95 Latino Vibe changes as well. I wonder what caused reggaeton to fall so quickly after the abrupt takeover it was beginning to have around 2004-2005? A lot of stations were benefiting and having big opportunities and chances from the reggaeton era, and I knew the moment it started to fade, something would have to happen to all those stations that thrived on it. In addition to the latin rhythm / hurban format, it also helped the spanish top 40 formats a bit, too. Now both formats seem to be disappearing on a nationwide scale.
Well, I used to be a bigger fan of KVIB 95.1 Latino Vibe, but my interest in them has faded over time. Also, my main reason for liking them was the amount of mix shows they had that played uptempo hits, but now I can get more dance/house on the other rhythmics we have in Phoenix than I can on KVIB. Lastly, KVIB used to be bilingual, but have gone much more spanish over the past year or two.
KXOL was pretty cool when I listened, but it's no longer really the format I desire much anymore. I still enjoy Power 106 more, especially with Richard Vission there and the fact that they embrace the electro-hip hop and house sound. Just wait until everyone else wakes up and starts jumping on the bandwagon. Well I'm sure once KXOL closes, KPWR will benefit, unless of course KXOL becomes the "Movin 99.7" of L.A. while Power 106 acts as the "WiLD 94.9" of L.A. Now THAT would be interesting to see.
