KXPA 1540 POWER INCREASE???

I turned to 1540 in downtown Everett yesterday afternoon and 1540 was coming in loud and clear. I live in Lynnwood, and usually can bearly hear the signal. I listened to it all the way home and it was clear everywhere. Anyone aware of them doing a power increase around the same time KKXA 1520 did here in Everett?

Aren't 1540 and 1150 diplexed together?

KXPA has not had a power increase. With 1520 AM in place, they may be able to get a slight increase if they want one, but they haven't applied. That being said, I heard that they did some work at their transmitter site. They may have rehabilitated their ground system and/or made adjustments to their audio processing and/or their transmitter. Loudness can appear to some to be better coverage. Don't rely on my statement, though. I haven't been in touch with them and don't know who their engineer is now. A long time ago, it was Michael Gilbert.
