It should give them way better penetration into buildings and better reception to radios with compromised antennas all over the metro. The name of the game is field strength, and that should be better throughout Sacramento. When the 88.9 signal was first established they had to protect TV channel 6. As such it was built close to the Walnut Grove towers so the D/I requirements could be met with KVIE. That's no longer a concern, of course.

This transmitter move seems to be taking some time to happen. Although, if I recall the original CP was for ERP of 40kw. They recently were able to modify the CP to the full 50kw omnidirectional.

Should be a huge improvement to the 88.9 signal in the region!

Agreed. The predicted coverage map puts a very nice signal into all the main areas of the metro. Vast improvement.
