KXT-A.O.R.?

I've been checking out 91.7 this week, and keep hearing classic rock. U-2, John Lennon, Steve Winwood, Paul Simon (from the 25 year old Graceland; doesn't he have a new album coming out?)
I can understand if they want to try to attract a larger audience, and it might be an improvement to hear familiar dreck rather than obscure dreck... But, don't we already have a classic rock station?
"I am dissapoint."

Noticing that, too, but I don't mind. I'm sure they're gently padding in some familiar tunes to draw people in, hoping they'll stick around for the not-so-well-known-yet-compatible songs. I'm liking the station better this way, but I know Alternative purists hate that. I'm also listening more to XM's The Spectrum, which is very similar in format.

I have to agree with Mike... kxt is now my favorite station and if it were not for kxt I wouldn't know Francis and the Machine, The Decemberists and Mumford & Sons... all now on my iPod. Sure The Edge is playing them now but if it were not for kxt THe Edge's most cutting edge track would be something by Nirvana... :D

Three thumbs up!! I like it, it's a good mix as mentioned above. I've recruited 3 more listeners.

So, after posting my screed, KXT hasn't played a single song I recognised.

In new March PPM numbers for 6+, KKXT went from a 0.4 to an 0.6 and gained approximately 45,000 new listeners.

I've listened to KXT 91.7 as well. They maybe playing mostly Classic Rock and today's Adult Alternative, but they're also playing deep cuts from their albums as well. Not to mention other songs you may not hear anywhere else. They've gained another listener (me).
