KTCU has a terrible signal, but has the widest and most adventurous playlist. But I live just outside of its signal and really only get it the last half of my commute. KNTU plays a lot of burned to a crisp pop rock hits, too much for my liking. KXT has a great signal and has a pretty wide playlist, but does have some overplayed new stuff. All three are far, far better and more indicative of the Alt Rock genre than the pile of garbage that is 103.7.
Right now I’d say I listen to KXT the most, followed pretty closely by KTCU, and KNTU is a distant third.
Non commercial radio rules: KTCU, KXT, KNON, and KEOM are all wonderful assets to the community and we’re lucky to have them. I know this place discusses all radio stations, but I wish we’d just ignore all the cookie cutter commercial music stations and focus on the non comms.
