I just saw over on FMQB.com that KXTE is gonna drop Stern early, his last show will air Nov 7. The reason behind this is that his contract runs out on that day... Here is a link to the article which mentions this info...

i have not listened to Howard Stern since Aug of this year...I gave up on his show as he talks about Sirius nonstop now..it gets irritating and maybe that is one of the reasons why the ratings are down in some cities.......howard was great before all this crap with Clearchannel and Sirius started........i do not plan on paying for radio......i will continue to support the local market instead.

Who's gonna go CHR-pop, X107.5 or KOMP? X107.5 is more like a modern rock station, not an alternative station. X107.5 was truly alternative, now it's more like KOMP. KVGS is now the ONLY alt-rocker in Vegas.

Neither. Even if KXTE has challenging times ahead, they would never switch to CHR-Pop because it would hurt two sister stations..KLUC and KMXB.

One thing for sure, Las Vegas was NOT one of the markets where Stern's ratings were going down! His most recent numbers were as strong as ever.

I know howard was doing well in LV....his ratings went down in L.A

I think x 107.5 should go CHR.......why not Star 102.7....

Howard had significant drops in New York and Washington..but was still tied for #1 in NYC in his key demos..

I'm still surprised Infinity never made a serious attempt to buy Howard out of his deal by now..they must have known what was coming when the clock started ticking down..Since he has roughly six weeks to go, maybe they just don't care if the first hour of the show has become little more than a recap of what happened on his Sirus Channels..

Since Reno has already announced a local replacement for Howard, is Extreme leaning in that direction?

Adam Carola is gonna be Sterns replacement on Xtreme come Jan. WHen Howard is dropped next week, from my understanding, it will be a variety of local folks....
