KXXK FM KMAP FM KPSD FM

While this board contains queries on other early FMs, I wanted to ask for any memories and specifics on these stations that occupied the same spot on the dial.

I'd love to know more of KXXK's Music for Groovy Grownups. I recall they played 2 in a row, had jingles, live jocks, weather on the hour and 5 minutes of news 4 times a day before becoming a TSN News affiliate. I recall the music was the "cool" side of easy listening. You'd get a pop hit like "See You In September" by the Happenings, for example with the more 'current' and more upbeat covers of hits mixed with groups like The Lettermen, etc. Of interest to me, the format seems to have been syndicated by Dawson. They sent out 30 minute reels of music.

KMAP and KPSD were prior to my move to Dallas.

Thanks in advance.

KSFM didn't sign on until January 15th. It went dark in January 1959.

Thank you Domingo for that correction.

How much old time Dallas radio dates do you know. I am looking for some dates that I can't find. Can you help?

Thanks

I probably have a lot of them, having done decades' worth of the very research you are doing now.
