KXXT to be bought by Salem; KXEG to Sewanee Phoenix

FCC Broadcast Applications for today shows a new application to sell KXXT to Common Ground Broadcasting, or Salem Communications. Salem already owns KKNT/960 and KPXQ/1360.

An application is also on file for KXEG/1280, where Sewanee Phoenix, LLC, a corporation with listed address in Vero Beach, Florida, is the buyer. Sewanee Phoenix is a subsidiary of Sewanee Ventures, run by Buford Ortale. Sewanee Phoenix has operated KXEG since June 2 through an LMA with Communicom.

The cost for each station is $575,000 for KXXT and $500,000 for KXEG. The stations, along with others in Louisiana and Detroit, are being sold as part of Communicom's chapter 11 bankruptcy. The sales were approved by the bankruptcy court in Denver on June 19.
