KYAF 94.7 heard in Sunnyside this morning

This is a first heard for me, I think. Using the very selective Sony F1HD tuner, but with just a lousy wire dipole tacked to the wall. Wondering if it's just a summer propagation anomaly or if something changed with KYAF's signal/antenna.

KYAF's transmitter is located west (25 miles) of the town of Madera, CA. The station is a 900w Class A FM.

OP: I assume you meant Sunnyvale?

faded away by 11AM

MisterGort asked:
Just where is Sunnyside ?

Question is, was it the Firebaugh signal or the Clovis "repeater".

lol you're right kenrayc, good question. But, I do think it was the Firebaugh signal that I heard this morning between about 9 and 11 AM. Has that Clovis 'repeater' been on at all recently? Also, I thought that only came on on weekend nights. I'd never before been able to get that 'repeater' here in Sunnyside even when I knew it was on the air- remember the wire dipole tacked to the wall - this is worst location I've ever lived for antenna possibilities :( tiny lot and not EVEN gonna go up on a tile roof)

I caught the signal near 41 and Herndon yesterday morning. Definitely not the repeater. Signal came and went (with the wind)....

Isn't the Firebaugh Station on 94.7 "silent" ??? It would make more sense that the Clovis "repeater" is back on the air.
kenrayc should be able to tell us if 'clovis' is on the air. I got a very faint signal again this morning. I thought Firebaugh was silent also, but now I believe it is on the air, based just on what I'm hearing. Can't find any recent FCC updates on it.

The last time I heard the Clovis signal was about a month ago on a Saturday night, I wasn't listening this morning, and I'm not getting any signal right now.

If KBOS has the "HD" subs off, anything is possible, even with KYAF down in a hole with 900 watts. You might even be able hear KHOP on the other side, blowing in from Oakdale.
