KYAR Signal Problems

I went to Waco on Saturday and tried to pull in 98.3 in Temple, and according to certain coverage maps, you should be able to pick it up as far south as Belton. Not only was KYAR not perceptible in Temple, but I couldn't even hear it in Waco. Later that night as I was driving back, I could not pick it up in Waco, Hewitt, or anywhere else in Central Texas. Did this station's application for an upgrade get denied, or was it just having signal problems on Saturday?

I was able to pick up Air One on K267AI out of Moody. I picked it up from Hewitt to Temple before it started to fade in Belton. This translator performs pretty well with only 34 watts to work with.

Instead of KYAR, I was picking up KBOC (Bridgeport-Dallas) through some static, which is 142 miles away from Hewitt.

The station has not completed its upgrade and is still running a blistering 200 watts out of Gatesville. Soon.

I am surprised Air One hasn't picked up a Waco translator, such as 96.7 or 100.7, to pick up the slack while they are waiting for the upgrade.

Any update on the status of KYAR's construction permit for Lorena? I haven't been to Waco in over a week, so I haven't been able to check it myself.

98.3 KYAR is now broadcasting from their new antenna near Lorena. I'm guessing it started on 1/3. It's also my understanding that KYAR is on the same tower as KRMX (Mix 92.9) - owned by M&M Broadcasting.

KYAR's translator in Moody (101.3, which has a decent signal into south Waco) is now simulcasting KRZI-AM (1660 ESPN). I'm curious if KAYR traded the translator in exchange for tower space? Their new antenna for 98.3 is on the KRZI/KRMX tower (owned by M&M Broadcasting).

KRZI is also simulcasting on a translator at 100.9 out of Troy (serving Temple). Until recently, 100.9 was simucasting KRMX-Mix 92.9.

KRZI is still simulcasting on 106.9 KHLE for Killeen/Fort Hood coverage, aren't they?
