KYDS 91.5 - A NICE CHANGE OF PACE

When I would visit friends in Carmichael, I'd tune to this funky station located
on El Camino Avenue, and would be bedazzled by its music diversity...
Tim Parish - later an asst engineer/board-op at KSTE, a.o., and now engineering
stations in Washington state - once engineered here. Not a bad signal for
400+ watts, either:

Re: KYDS 91.5 - UPDATE?

While I was leaving Orangevale last night (4/5) 'round 11, I listened to KYDS,
and heard they made the $1,000 donation mark!... :)

Anyone know if they made the $2,000 target? Nothing online at The Bee,
far as I can see...and I called KYDS' studio/auction line and was greeted
by an answering machine at 6:45 pm Sunday...

Just curious whether anyone knows the final outcome of the pledge drive. I'd be interested to know the level of support they received.

Also, an interesting note about this station/frequency. Back in the late 80's (maybe earlier) the frequency was shared by the radio program at Cosumnes River College. On Sundays, I believe, Cosumnes would send its studio feed to El Camino to air. I believe most of the Cosumnes program was recorded during the week by the students.

I heard they made around $1970 or something like that. Very close to their goal of $2000.
