KYFS 90.9 audio way far off to the right speaker

KYFS 90.9 FM, Bible Broadcasting Network, has had their stereo balance way off to the right side ever since I can remember. I'm not sure how long it's really been this way, but I did send them a message a couple years back letting them know, got no response.
Can some engineer possibly fix it? I hope they have a local engineer, anyway.

If you notice a technical problem with a BBN radio station, please call 1-800-888-7077 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday.

While you're at it, Mouse, go ahead and report K221FI in Mexia too. Audio has been crapola on that one since it signed on in 2012.

These guys are required to monitor their own signals. Another fly by night operator

Yes we are required to monitor our signals. There is not a device that will send us an alarm for poor audio quality. That's why we rely on listeners. We can't fix what we don't know about. That does not mean we are fly by night.

Call me crazy, but since it's apparent you are involved with the station, shouldn't YOU be a listener yourself? How do you not check what's going out over your signal from time to time, even if the programming is not your cup of tea?

Fly by night, no. Lack of pride in your offered service, hell yes.

I'll call the number when I get back to town next week, if it's still not fixed.

BBN's programming reminds me of KHCB, just a little older. It's kinda like Family Radio.

Another reason ALL stations should have a local presence in each community. All broadcaster need to be held to the same requirements that commercial operators are required to do.. And please do no spout non coms
can not afford to have a local studio or local presence. EMF is a huge abuser. Bringing in millions , buying stations for millions with no local operations. It is so wrong, yes legal but wrong. We have tried to get our FCC lawyer to address this, however, to many lawyers earn money from non come they do not have the guts to deal with this abuse.

And if any operator can not monitor their signal...fly by night!

Actually, they did say they monitor the signal, they apparently just don't have return audio. BBN has been around for more than 40 years and this station has been on the air for 20. It's not really fair to call them a fly by night broadcaster even if you are not personally a fan of the network on their operational model.

There are a number of (commercial) stations in this same area that have staffed local studios (some even have engineers!) and still have all kinds of production issues or poor audio chains or even worse, the signals that can't stay on the air continuously for more than a few days at a time. Some even intentionally break the rules. That's not the case here at all.

Let's cut them a little more slack.

All the non coms have been given a BUNCH of Slack. The commercial operators pay all the fees that keep these guys on the air. Non coms get a free. No need no SLACK.
This attitude my opinion toward ALL non coms and any operator that does not provide a local presence.

I was in town this past weekend and KYFS sounded good to me. Left and Right were balanced. Could it have been a single program that was not balanced?

If you listen speaking and vocals are to the right. The music sounds fine sometimes, but the vocals are always to one side. It's weird.

KYFS has been down since yesterday.
I found this STA just now after looking. Looks like they're operating a backup transmitter due to some technical problems. https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/w...ext=25&appn=101688103&formid=911&fac_num=5115
The backup power is 6000 watts. But since I can't hear it at all, it probably is being worked on with all transmisions off. Let's hope they fix the audio issues when they return it to the air.

New transmitter is being installed right now from my understanding.

KYFS is back on. The sound is in the center now but I can tell it's not top quality.

90.9 is now back off the air...

[edit] Back on now.

Now it's KTSW 89.9 that's all the way to the left speaker.
What's up with the non-commercial stations around north SA and their not-so-good audio?
