KYKM broadcast question

KYKM seems in mono broadcast, and only on one side, not dual stereo in mono broadcast. I would think if they switched off the stereo to mono broadcast wouldn't they get more power? They cover Lavaca county pretty good overall. KTXM is still only covering Hallitsville.
