KYKZ Westward Move

Interesting application files this week from KYKZ 96.1 Lake Charles...it has applied to move west to the KVHP tower north of Vinton LA. New coverage would put a strong signal over Beaumont and Port Arthur.

I wonder if Cumulus has plans to have it target the Triangle if approved?

Interesting, since KYKZ, 96.1, would be competing with co-owned KAYD Silsbee on 101.7, also formatted country. That would put KYKZ and KNGT 99.5, owned by Townsquare, also country, on the same tower.

Nothing wrong with a country combo. KVET and KASE in Austin have done it for years.
