KYOT QUIET

Ok don't laugh!! But.. lately I've been listening to KYOT (yes - always something different with me..) and have noticed that this is another format where they seem to have to play a lot of older hits in regular rotation with the new hits. I am not exactly sure what state jazz formating is currently in, but I'm thinking that jazz formats could use some improvements in some ways...

But anyway, let me get to what I really wanted to discuss here. For quite a few years now, I've noticed (and enjoyed) their quiet music morning show on Sunday's, where they'd play things that are similar to and touch almost heavily on Chill / Smooth Electronica. While I believe that early Sunday mornings are an appropriate time for this, I do kind of wish there were more programs like this (or similar to Sirius/XM Chill / Smooth Electronica) scheduled for late nights on jazz channels. After all, I've noticed that KYOT plays a variety of multi-ethnic styles of vocal & nonvocal jazz music and artists, so one would think that many of the things they play on Sirius / XM CHILL could fit in in the form of a regularly scheduled program with a knowledgeable host on a jazz channel. A good variety of soulful jazz, jazzy house, downtempo beats, chill, latin rhythm, and electro chill / smooth electronica would be nice to chill, groove, or relax to at least once a week... well, ... at night or late night to be specific. I'm really enjoying the quiet music on KYOT, and similar to how some are feeling about the organic music on KPKX, I'd like more quiet music segments / programs on KYOT (and other jazz format outlets).
