KYOT-the smooooth lady is back!

Melissa Sharpe is back on mornings at KYOT. Former morning host, Tony Evans, switches to middays.

After 7 years, the smooooth lady is back on smooooth jazz, and I, for one, am jazzed.

Welcome back, Missy!

I remember hearing Melissa on San Diego smooth jazz KIFM in 2006. She was engaged to Mitch Lewis who also worked at the station. They were planning a wedding on an Alaska cruise for August 2006. Somehow, the cruise, which was not sponsored by KIFM, became a major part or every show, inviting listeners to join them on the cruise, etc. Then, all of a sudden, Melissa was gone from the station with no mention why she left.

With the shuffle at the KYOT, what happened to Angie Handa?

WNWV Names New PD

Various trade websites report that Elyria-Lorain Broadcasting has picked its replacement for long-time smooth jazz WNWV/107.3 program director Bernie Kimble.

She's Angie Handa, who comes to "The Wave" from a stint as assistant program director/music director of Clear Channel's Phoenix smooth jazz outlet, KYOT. Her resume includes a gig at a another smooth jazz station in Phoenix, and other earlier experience at AC and Hot AC outlets.

What a bad decision.

She got fired from the other station before the cruise took place. Big surprise.

Let's hope she won't last long here either!
