KYOT in Phoenix is a good radio station. Love the smooth jazz, but I feel they should expand their playlist slightly to feature more Urban Adult AC cuts (since there really isn't a full-time Urban AC in Phoenix) to cater to a broader audience. More songs from: Phyllis Hyman, The Whispers, Eric Benet, Maxwell, Alicia Keys, etc. I feel this would satisfy the mainstream and African-American audiences in the Phoenix metro. Morning and Afternoon drives could be more Smooth Jazz intensive, while Middays and evenings could be more Urban AC/Smooth Jazz intensive.

Can you say "KFYI-FM"?

Certainly in the rumor mill for a while, and Akbar sure likes the concept.
Of course, he's not the Chickboss Dudeboss of KFYI. ;)

KYOT is good for what it aims to be: audio wallpaper. So far, it's still a money maker for CC; just plug in the hard drive and sell the time. Hard to pull the plug on it as long as it's profitable. I would love to see it become KFYI FM, but that won't happen unless the Benjamins stop coming in.
