Radio-locator lists it as silent and their own website hasn't been updated since May 29, 2006.

What's the deal with them?? I see they have a CP, to drop a few watts at night and move their tower...

I grew up in Potosi and worked at KYRO twice in my late teens. KYRO first signed on February 1959 and went off the air sometime in 2006. During its entire tenure, KYRO's programming consisted primarily of country music, news, daily farm reports, and some talk, with religious programming on Sunday mornings. In the 1970's, it had a daily one-hour bluegrass show and in the mid-80's, a one-hour Cajun music show on Saturday morning.

Sometime in 2010, KYRO began broadcasting out of Troy, Missouri (a little more than 100 miles north of Potosi) as a sports station. It still uses the 1280 frequency, but can no longer be heard in the Potosi area, as the new tower is near Troy.
