KYSJ 105.9 The Wave - Coos Bay

How is this station doing in surviving the vast dieout in smooth jazz stations? I wonder if it's ever going to stream as I have never heard it before. Anyone want to trade an aircheck - I have almost all the streaming SJ ones airchecked now.

Sorry to be so late in responding to this question. I'm new to this message board and was looking back at old threads.

For now it's just not cost effective for KYSJ to stream audio at this time. Small market, PD/GM/MD wearing too many hats. The station has been in operation since March of 2001 and has slowly moved from a true smooth jazz to more of a smooth A/C.

They would love to stream audio and actually stream the local high school football and basketball games that are broadcast on KYSJ in season. But that's it.

Bottom line...money.

Update. KYSJ's sister station KYTT is now streaming full time. The only time KYSJ is streamed is during the local broadcasts of the North Bend Bulldog High School athletics.

Latest word is they might be streaming audio soon. No date yet.

Station has been streaming for a couple of weeks now. Having some technical glitches from time to time. Nice to hear it on line.

Sound quality has been upgraded and it sounds really good now.

The streaming audio has gone commercial free. Outside the music the jocks cross promote their shifts.
