I'm starting a new thread because discussion about KYSR didn't correlate to anything about country music. David Gleason and others, take out your crystal ball because I'd like to know your thoughts on what might be KYSR's direction and maintenance of their current format. David, you said their billings are off 50% over what they were doing two years ago. I assume this goes against the trend for many LA area stations. Their ratings are also going in the wrong direction. Where do you see Star 98.7 in June 2007? In December 2007? Will they keep it the same .. will their billings continue to decline? If billings decline, I assume that means their spot rates also go down? (Law of Supply and Demand)
I used to do business with KBIG (years ago) and they increased their spot rates 50% with no correlating increase in ratings. It didn't make sense to me then and it still doesn't now. Since then, I have refrained from doing business with any Clear Channel station even though some have pursued me.
