KYSR and KBIG both do quite well in the gay community...I dunno if arbitron surveys that demographic or not...but as gay resident of LA I prefer KYSR.... I dunno what the format of the show will be...will it be just music..or will it be talk/music or play gay artists not just Melissa and Elton...but venture a little bit further to cover artists that arent well known... I look forward to it.

GREAT idea - Drive the vast majority of your listeners away!

This was once a good radio station.

** And they still wonder what the appeal of sat radio on IPODs are **

The ONLY true and uncensored gay radio is Sirius Out Q. Any gay still listening to terriestrial radio like KBIG/KYSR are just tacky and clueless.

Um, are you calling the stations tacky and clueless? Or the listeners?

I'm going to guess, although the grammar is bad, that he/she is saying the listeners are tacky and clueless.

The proper way of writing that, for the poster, would be:

1. Any gay still listening to terrestrial radio like KBIG/KYSR is just tacky and clueless.

OR

2. Any gays still listening to terrestrial radio like KBIG/KYSR are just tacky and clueless.

I'm not stating these as my opinion, or trying to give a grammar lesson. I'm trying to show the poster that confusion created by his post has happened due to improper grammar; Therefore causing us to have to discuss that rather than the actual content of the post.

This is a bad idea.
That's all I can say.

Well, this post is in response to the words that guy wrote:

I don't you should call listeners who still listen to terrestrial radio (in this case, Gay listeners) "tacky and clueless". If they like it, thats ok. Its their opinion. Just because you would have thought it was dumb, doesn't mean other people think it is.

(This isn't in response to radiospasm, its the poster who made the grammar mistakes)

Why is that all you can say?
One specific thing? No?

Would it be possible to wait and see what this new show sounds like before trying to pass judgment?

No?

I figured as much.<P ID="signature">______________

Cought that the other day. I think they should stick it on KIIS or KBIG instead of Star. Fits the format better. Oh well.

As for the idea (LGBT radio) Chicago has had an LGBT radio show for years. Once a week. I don't see a reason why a national one wouldn't work if put on the air in the right markets.

It seems like every possible faction has a radio show. Remember WEVD in NYC? Yet when anybody but Pacifica airs anything "gay" , fits abound. GLBTQ people have the right as does anybody else to have a radio show in a free market economy. However, don't think that a certain irony escapes me. I have been part of GLBT shows and benefits where my letter in that hodgepodge- THE T people----- were ignored. Besides, there has always been gay radio. I could list a lot of well know radio personalities, but I won't cause that is unethical. Radio is chock full of GLBT people and at least some have come out. I guess coming out on the LA Board is most appropriate. First KSYR , next KDKA!
