Saw a promo on their UPN-18 subchannel last night. If I saw it right, they've got an in-house Doppler radar coming online in the very near future. I think I remember seeing it called "Fury19".Anyone have the scoop??

That's the rumor. They are about to dive head first in to the weather war between 56 and 7

True....Will be interesting to see what angle they take with their entrance.Makes me wonder, though.KLTV has 2 digital radars to keep me safer.KETK has a the most powerful Doppler radar in East Texas. Will KYTX find a new use for Stormy and call it "Dogpler Radar"??!

HAHA...too funny!By the way...speaking of Channel 7's double radar...Did anyone else see Morgan Palmer during the coverage of the severe weather on Sunday morning? There was a tornado warning issued for Cherokee County and he was trying to zoom in on it on radar. He couldn't find it and said the two radars must be canceling each other out. NOT something I think you would want to tell your audience about...especially when you brag about how much safer you are by watching them and their double radar. Oh well, it was a long night for him and maybe he just let that slip out! From what I understand about 19's new radar...it is supposed to give much more detail than the ones 7 or 56 have. Stay tuned...

AAMOF, I did. I thought I was hearing things, though. I agree...hearing that the two radars are cancelling each other out is certainly not comforting to know when a tornado warning has been issued for your county. Props to Morgan in spite of the fatigued misspeak. From the way it looks, he'd been there since sometime Saturday afternoon to prep for 6 and 10 PM newscasts, then all night long watching that mess roll in.Has anyone heard if 56 started running a promo based on that "cancelling each other out" statement? Sure hope not.....
