This station's audio quality has never really sounded good. Their stream doesn't either. I did email and politely ask them to increase the bitrate though
IMO they should really try taking over one of the Claro or Radio Ola translators in San Antonio and bringing their LOCAL Christian music to compete with EMF, though I seriously doubt this'll happen.

I like their variety, it's just the quality of both the AM and the stream I'm not a fan of. TO me the stream sounds better than the AM actually.

And the stream is at http://sc8.spacialnet.com:25854/

Anyone else listened?

They could LMA with Cox on 104.9 or if X 106.7 no longer makes business since to keep it going, they could simulcast it on that frequency.

AM 810 has always been a weak one. From it's KCHG days to the KSJL days. It's COL is Somerset, clearly not as strong as KTKR, and KONO. But the signal gets better if you are listening to 810 AM on the Southside of town. Plus if they stream instead of running it directly it makes the sound even worse.

You mean, if they feed their transmitter via an audio stream?
I doubt they're using that low bitrate stream to feed their transmitter, doesn't sound like it. And a station can feed their audio to their transmitter with a stream, and probably make it sound great if they use a high bitrate. 192 or 256, maybe even 320.

Higher bit rates equal more data usage. Maybe it is to cut costs. After all, they once leased that station to Clear Channel.

Do they still air high school football on that station from Blossom Athletic Center?

Someone else who's listened more to KYTY can probably tell you.

Yes and IIRC sometimes from Heroes Stadium, too. The audio on those broadcasts always sounds like a bad analog phone call.

That's not the first time I've heard people calling games on the radio via cell phones. Might as well just use Skype / FaceTime.
