[size=10pt]It's about time
If you set your life to the top-of-the-hour time beeeep of KYW (1060), you're running a bit slow - by 8.403 seconds, to be exact.

Newsradio recently began transmitting a digital signal, known as HD Radio or IBOC, in addition to its old-fangled analog signal.

[EDIT]
Also according to some folks from the "other" board, there is signal and audio problems on the HD feed of NewsRadio 1060. If you want to contact KYW-AM about this: http://www.kyw1060.com/pages/11537.php and to e-mail the VP/GM of the station [email protected] To the users that have HD radio, have you noticed any problems with the KYW HD audio and HD signal?

It's nothing new. Most of the British networks used to show a live clock during their transitions between programs, but dropped them when digital television was launched there (in 1998) because the encoding and decoding delay meant that the time would never be correct.

I was at the Phillies-Mets games at Citizen's Bank Park at the end of June. I was dismayed to find out that both WFAN and WPHT were broadcasting the game on delay, so I couldn't listen to the coverage while sitting at the stadium.

There really should be an LPFM broadcast of the game coverage for people physically at the game.
