Is KYW 1060's signal a true clear channel 50,000 watt class A AM radio station watt that can be heard in a lot of states a night, even though 1060's signal is directional ?

KYW is indeed a Class A station. (not all 50,000-watt stations are) I certainly hear it fairly well here in the Nashville area at night.

KYW's pattern is directional. The 2 major lobes in the figure-8 pattern are along a northwest-southeast line. The northeast side of the pattern protects the first-adjacent 1050 in New York, plus, if I'm not mistaken a 1060 in Quebec that's now dark. To the southwest, cochannel WLNO New Orleans is protected, as well as XEEP in Mexico City. Here's the pattern plot: http://fccinfo.com/CMDProEngine.php...SearchType=Appl&sAppIDNumber=1455707&sHours=U

They are very directional and heres the proof...
