KYW 1060 Time Tone

KYW always announces the exact time at the tone is: ------ When in fact the exact time is incorrect.
Their time tone is about 10 seconds late due to I guess the IBOC processing. I wonder if anything can be done to correct this?
Has anyone else realized this?

Soon after the time tone delay started several years ago, there was a note in the newspaper from station personnel stating that the tone was 8.403 seconds behind. I believe they now avoid saying "the time at the tone is 'EXACTLY' xx:xx". Without the word 'exactly', the time statement IS correct!

I get my accurate time from my cable box or my cell phone. I assume Verizon has the accurate time on both of them.

My Verizon Droid is 14 seconds fast. I wouldn't use it to hit network news.
But - there's an app to get accurate time. ;)

My lifelong dream has been to invent a box that would cancel digital delay by pushing the audio into the future an equal number of seconds, then (if nobody infringes my patent) I would finally be a billionaire. But something tells me it would be much easier to go back to analog.

Why not just use a regular delay box, connected backwards? ;D
