KYW NewsRadio blowed it big time today

I'm very angry with KYW 1060 AM right now because they blowed it big time. I would like to know why didn't the station broadcast a news bulletin and the press conference live outside the courthouse in the Bahamas to announce who is the father of Anna Nicole smith daughter today. At 3:45 PM today Anchor Steve Nikazy was about to announce the news and maybe carry the PC but he didn't because I think there was a tech problem or human error. This is a joke that 1060 AM has really gotten this bad period in the last 10 years. For years KYW was firest to broadcast breaking news, but since the cable news channels have been on, 1060 AM is always behind The station BTW finally broadcasted the news at 3:50 PM via a CBS News special report. CBS radio needs to make major changes to the station now because enough is enough. Thank goodness for technical problems with a news story like that! Who really cares! I'd rather hear how bad traffic is tied up on the Expressway! Keep it local KYW!
 
Agreed with DaveWilliams. Who cares about Anna Nicole's Baby Daddy anyway...just go to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC, ABC.....etc.

On the other hand, it is nice to see Julius actually post an opinion.
 
Good for KYW... there are far more newsworthy things going on in a day. Tune into your local Hot AC for more info on Anna Nicole.
 
Whatever they did, they didn't blowed it by not carrying a non-event like that.
 
The reason they didn't go live was because they were so upset that they hit the top of the hour at :01 and it was getting close again to the next top of the hour so they didnt want to screw it up and have Julius call in to complain.

I think they were one of the few stations that were serving in the public's interest today. Now they can put that on the quarterly report.
 
Drop everything and broadcast a so-called news conference over who fathered someone's baby? You've got to be kidding, Julius! That is one of your worst ideas ever of what makes for good radio. No one in their potential listening audience claimed to be the father, so who cares.

I agree 1000%. That story has no business being considered news now. I may tell CNN not to bother sending me "breaking news" alerts any more because, sadly, they considered this non-news to be worthy of an alert.

Go ahead, put the story on E!, Entertainment Tonight, but this story had no business being news 5 minutes after Ms. Smith bought the farm.

That is why I get my news from the BBC World Service, NPR, Australia's ABC, Radio Netherlands, and Germany's Deutsche Welle.

KYW is good for traffic, weather, local sports, national emergencies, and the Regional Affairs Council series.

I have never posted on this particular board, but I agree with the masses. There has been enough ink, video and breath expended about Anna Nicole and her sordid life. It is a tragedy that she died so young, but get over it.

KYW held itself to a higher standard by NOT carrying the announcement.
 
Knowing this entire Anna Nicole Smith "Dog and Pony Show", you are upset (Julius) because you heard who the Father was 5 minutes later! Three different people could have been the father.......Julius, maybe you were the father(before the DNA tests of course) ;D ;D
