KZCC/KZCW-LP in Conroe

Almost forgot these stations existed, but was scanning the dial this evening and landed on them.

Even for an LPFM, I haven't heard stations sound this bad in a long time... super low volume level, and it sounds like they are feeding their stereo STLs with a headphone splitter, because KZCC content is only in the left channel, while KZCW is in the right channel. Music content is a quite bizarre country playlist, with music that almost sounds like it was ripped off of cassettes.

I believe the City of Conroe is just letting a third party (Lone Star Community Radio) run these stations, it's a shame that they are being run into the ground.

If for whatever reason I find myself listening to the stations I listen in mono. For awhile now the stations will be dead air anywhere from 1 day to about 2 weeks randomly.

Also I haven’t checked them recently but awhile ago they had these talk show programs that were old reruns. Sometimes I’d keep hearing the same exact show each week and it would be something like “this movie is coming out in theaters this week” but it’s already out on DVD at that point.
 
Yeah, they still do the talk shows if I’m not mistaken. I see them on Conroe cable channel 12 from time to time while flipping channels, they seem very low budget at best.

I wonder who would be the best contact at the City to talk about these stations, I’m sure they’d love a volunteer or two to come help fix things up to actually make the stations useful…
