KZEP Morning show

This is a joke right? I can't see him doing a morning show on a "classic rock" station. His humor is aimed at a younger audience than the ZEP audience. I don't see it working. When he was at K-ROCK he never really had great ratings and for a conservative spot like SA I don't think it would fit.
 
They need to bring Fred Zeppelin back. I've always liked him, and real nice guy too. Plus he was at KZEP for a long time, so has good name recog. Plus he's funny as hell. ;-)
 
I liked Fred Zepplin in the mornings, but really liked him when he was with Kim Kerley- I used to actually laugh when I listened...
 
It's cute when people post their own names in hopes that it will get them a job. Fred. Kurly. Oh yes..two of finest broadcasters the world has every seen. Too bad their #'s were in the toilet. Must have just been poor diary placement...for years.
 
I don't think KZEP needs a morning show. Lisle and Hahn can't win against the boss jocks kicking ass with those segs on KZEP!

Lisle and Hahn CLAIM to be huge. Just wait till Keith and Brother Dave do a double shot of rock RIGHT into L&H's numbers. Count your days Lisle and Hahn, you're FINISHED!!

Some of you are probably confused. Just look at how successful those "more music" morning shows are! They are syndicated EVERYWHERE! Personalities will NEVER win against those "shut up and rock" shows! Name me a "show" that is successful? YOU CAN'T! It's about the MUSIC! YEA!

Keep going KZEP!! Screw funny, gimme FOGHAT!!!!
 
I can pretty much promise you that Fred didn't post in here, 'in hopes that it will get him a job', or for any other reason for that matter ::) I wasn't all that high on Kim, but Fred's a pretty good talent, and actually has a pretty good gig going promoting Texas music. So, Nunyabiz, what kind of a broadcasting trailblazer are you ;)

You people have lost your step. Do you REALLY think the local brass at KZEP would hire a local show?

Where is their track record of cranking out "talent"? THERE IS NONE

Granted, KZEP had a big Summer book, music is focused now since Jay Levine is out of the picture. They'll likely have a good Fall due to Harley and cash contest but can c.c. sustain good numbers? Kudos to them for a good book.

However, KISS' numbers dropped a bit and they still beat KZEP.

Fall book will be interesting for the current top 5 FM's in San Antonio.

Keep on adding units to your stopsets Clear Channel, your listeners love 7 minute stopsets.

KISS will ALWAYS beat KZEP. One reason is they have a BIG morning show leading off. Even the KISS jocks sound like they're into it! KZEP jocks sound like they're asleep. KZEP has never been consistent. Up's and owns with the revolving doors of talent. I'm sure CC will stabilize them a bit, but it will still be a boring sleeper.

Good book = more spots and voicetracking! :)

I'm sure after this book they will bang their chests and start making disastrous moves. I can't wait till Bob and Tom start and just alienate the city. Another win for L and H at KISS.
 
Bob and Tom. I can see that happening. Don't think they will do real well here. But, not going for a win. Just keeping salaries down. Alamoboy mentioned Jay Levine. Was he as bad as I was told?

I heard Bob & Tom mentioned somewhere else, too. Radio just continues to slide.
 
I thought radio in Atlanta was bad, but San Antonio TAKES THE CAKE! ALL the stations are weak! Q101 has more edge than ANY of the rock/men stations here. A damn shame.
 
Morning drive. ouch!

I can see it now, "In a move to cost cut, KZEP has decided to just shut the station off from 6-10am every morning."

Men 18-34: KISS- 15.2 and KZEP- 3.5

Men 18-49: KISS- 12.8 and KZEP- 6.4

Men 25-49: KISS- 12.0 and KZEP- 7.4

Men 25-54: KISS- 10.4 and KZEP- 7.3
 
KISS~Untouchable. Heritage morning show. Solid #'s in dayparts outside morning drive. Me thinks that Mr. Vargas has a helping hand (from Miami) in the continues success of KISS . Great station!
