KZFM

Anyone know why KZFM Corpus Christi seems to be operating with a much reduced signal the past several weeks? It is one of the weakest local signals on the Southside of Corpus Christi. This never was the case before.

Chased this one down.

It appears Z-95 had a transmitter failure the day after the helo hit the tower across the street at KEDT. Non related. They have been at basically <200 watts ever since. A variety of repairs and fixes and new parts seem to have not gotten the situation fixed. Word has it they have contracted someone ot of market try and get them back up.

A good deal different than the olke management to say the least.

Thanks for the info.

Wow, that probably means a huge portion of their 100,000 watt hinterland hasn't been able to hear them for weeks. I have trouble picking them up in stereo in parts of CC.

WOW.... that is very sad. I wonder if they have a Chief engineer ?

When I worked there a long time ago, we never went for very long at reduced power.
How long have they been operating at LOW power?
