KZHZ 105.9/KZHC 96.3 Des Moines status?

Nothing for now. At some point on the evening of Tuesday, November 1, the stations went silent. IPR's Classical service is expected to begin soon.

I am hearing within the next week or two IPR will switch them on to classical. At that point WOI-FM will begin relaying the Studio 1 and NPR programming.

Since 105.9 & 96.3 can't be heard in Ames, would there be a new home for the Classical service there?

They are considering purchasing 88.5 KURE from the Student Group. They would probably have to help give the student group a new frequency though.

If you ask me, it's long overdue having studio 1 on WOI-FM. The classical service just doesn't resonate as much anymore and can't have near the listeners that Studio 1 does.

What is on the main channel for WOI-FM 90.1 now? Are they Studio 1 yet?

Apparently 105.9 KICP Patterson and 96.3 KICL Pleasantville signed back on Friday 11/11/2011 with Classical music. I heard their ID from online and they also say WOI-FM 90.1 HD3. So they decided to put the classical service on 90.1's HD3 channel. That is a good idea.

(I listen to classical musical on HD channels all the time. I make sure every radio I own has HD.)
