KZLA-2

What do you all think about Emmis's decision to put AAA on KZLA-2 vs a Classic Country format or Outlaw Country?

Is there cluster sales opportunitites between the two? Both seem to target the upscale LA Audience.

I think all of this talk about these HD-2 channels is simply ridiculous. The number of radios out there is so small - they have no chance of making any impact for several years. I will almost predict that IF and WHEN we have enough HD-2 radios being used - that this will be a serious discussion - but right now Satellite Radio has more impact.

Plus, I don't like the idea of the channels on the same frequency. An idea proposed by others was expanded the band up from 107.9 for the HD channels (it wouldn't be literally - but just the display on the radio). I think that plan is MUCH better - and should be looked into.

Referring to KZLA-2, Triple A would be a good combo with Country IMHO.

When you actaully get to use an HD Radio it does seem intuative. Even my wife (trust me no radio geek there!!!) was using the HD Radio without any help from me. For example, she is a country fan... when we were in Chicagoand Detroit, she found it easy to just hit the "scan" buttin to go to the HD2 channel of the country stations. If she didnt like what was being played on HD1 justbump it over to HD2 for a different country song. She found it easy to use and enjoyed the chance to listen to a different song if she wanted to.

She is the type of person to keep it on one station and never move from that station. So the scan button gets not use from her.

Though it may seem confusing at the outset, it is actaully easy to use and is intuative.
