Kzla 98.3 cp

Wow. A mouth full. However - the fact remains - the ONLY location that allows 98.3 to be used as a B1 - is a very small area - of about 4 to 5 miles - near it's present proposed location. And a B1 from that location - is more than 15 miles away from Huron, which prevents providing a 70 dBu contour over Huron. That then requires a City of License change to a city or town that is within about 15 miles. That would be Riverdale.

The more important question is - what will KZLA do next - if the FCC does not delete Condition Number 9 from the outstanding "B1" CP ??

I Got it now The West Hills site won't work due to KKJG 98.1, so that's it, no new station, I have seen COL changes before like 104.9 was Lemoore and moved to Tipton, don't think Lemoore got a replacement station for that move.

Yes - there was. The 1320 was still operational and licensed to Lemoore at the time that the 104.9 B1 was proposed at Tipton. The move took to long and another move at the 104.9 Ridgcrest -- and else where - prevented Tipton from going to B1.

There is and was also the 1240 in Lemoore- KOAD- one of the few AMs that increases power at nite vs daytime. (250w D/1000w night) (KRDU and KFMB also increase at nite)
Mention of 1320 just tripped a synapse and the name Doug McDougal came to mind. cir. '61-'65 -I think he was a KLAN-man (or was it KLANSman with an 's'?) Anyway, can you imagine a station choosing KLAN? They, for some reason took on a Scottish image- hence the jocks had Scottish names and their logo/mascot was a leprachon.

Lemoore's 1320 and 104.9 were both gone by '88. I remember going to look for the 2 tower AM when I lived in Armona in '88. No towers were there to find. At that time there was only KOAD/KJOP 1240 and KNGS 620 on AM in Lemoore/Hanford. Hanford had gotten 103.7 and 107.5 FMs in the late 70s.

The else where was the adding of 105.1 B1 Auberry originally KSLK, then after KLBN, and now KKBZ, but 104.9 does have a good signal from Fresno to Kern Co and even Lemoore, and the signal has no adjacent interference to 105.1 in most of Fresno/Clovis depending on your stereo.

What the latest on this station, will it ever go on the air at the KJZN 105.5 site, last FCC update was April 2016 and CP expires March 2018.

KZLA is just waiting for the FCC legal review. At the time KZLA 98.3 (A) Huron proposed to relocate to Riverdale there was a "Backfill" educational station also licensed to Huron. That "backfill" station no longer exists and the FCC attorneys are giving a thumbs down to the 98.3 B1 relocation away from Huron because KZLA is now the only radio service licensed to Huron. KZLA is asking for a waiver of the rules. No waiver = no B1.
