KZOK in Bellingham

For the past several weeks (I've been meaning to post), KZOK in Bellingham has been terrible. It's being completed drowned out by a LPFM at 102.3. Has the KZOK signal changed recently or is the LPFM running hotter? And can anything be done about it?

KMRE is only 100 watts, but unfortunately its signal is going to hit Bellingham pretty hard. My only guess would be to put a call into the museum (the American Museum of Radio and Electricity) to confirm they are not broadcasting over authorized strength.

If you use an external TV antenna, you could also hook that to an FM radio to better receive KZOK. If you have cable television, contact Comcast for a digital box and you can listen to "crystal clear" KZOK that way.

If KAVZ is on air: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/tv/401453_radiobeat26.html that may also be interfering with your ability to listen to KZOK over the air.

Thanks. I have the most problem when I'm in my car in town. It just seems fairly recently that the reception has gotten much worse. I'll also check out the KAVZ angle.

According to the KAVZ website they are on the air and broadcast from 3PM to 9PM daily. No sign of them up here, just the usual dominant KZOK.

KAVZ isn't strong enough to make it into Bellingham....neither is KZOK. KZOK really needs a translator up here badly.......
