Here is an idea:

Blow up the Jamz format

Kid can take pm drive at KTAR so we can get rid of Mac cheese head

Take KZON to "The original alternative" 101-5 The Zone
Morning Ritual mornings
Robin middays
Dead Air Dave pm drive
focus on alternative skewing it a bit older and play up the history of alternative on KZON

I would even go as far as to get Big O and Dukes to voicetrack a night show, possibly use bits from their midday show on JFK.

Awesome idea you could kick it off with don't change by inxs or changes by tears for fears or something like that.

CBS needs to fix what is broken no ifs ands or buts. What an embarrassment your competition has signal issues and you are basically tied maybe a little ahead or behind but usually close.

Not for the long haul they will get blown up. I like kiss and power but i have never liked jamz. They think they are filling a void.

alternative? seriously??? isn't that a dying format? the market can barely support one... much less two. I think Jamz will bounce back nicely soon. They ARE filling a void.

If they were filling a void they would be doing better then they are so they do not fill a void they flipped the format to a format not needed in phoenix. I would rather have seen them stay talk then this

I think Chuck Powell got burned enough the last time he was at KZON to ever go back unless they made it well worth his while.

My pipe dream would have the Edge going back to being independently owned again (with Chuck back), playing whatever they wanted and not playing the same damn foo fighters song every hour.

CHR/Pop does not fly in Phoenix. Remember the extraordinarily poor performance for the station that most recently tried it (KZZP, early 1999 – April 2001)? It also bombed on Power in 1994 and Y95 before that.

The last time that format worked in this market was the ORIGINAL KZZP in the 80’s – before Rhythmic music took over the CHR format. Times have changed.
